airplay not working

Situation: I use appletv (7.1) to connect my macbook pro (yosemite 10.2.2.) to an epson projector via airplay; it's set up so you have to put in a code projected on screen ...

Up until a couple of weeks ago, it worked fine, now suddenly when I try to connect from my macbook, the box prompting me to type in a code won't show up ... if I do it again, it does and a screen code pops up. When I type in the code, however, the box on the macbook doesn't give me the 'ok' option ... it's greyed out and it won't connect.

Nothing has changed in my settings; I haven't applied any updates to either apple tv or my macbook ... I can connect with an ipad without any issues ... any ideas?

Have you tried restarting the router.

It's in a school ... i don't have access to the router but nothing on it has changed ... like I said, it works it other situations ...

Does that mean the connection you are attempting works in other classrooms? Have you asked the individual/department responsible for the router to restart it? Even if "nothing has changed" (which you don't really know), the router might need to be restarted.

No ... that means it works with every other ipad and mac product available except for my macbook ...

that includes a mac mini ... they all access via the same router

Have you considered updating OSX? The current version is 10.10.2.

What about restarting the router? I know you can't, but someone must be able to....

Well, all of that means that the problem is either in your MBP or the router. All other combinations seem to work and your MBP seems to be the odd thing out. Have you considered updating OSX on your MBP?

FWIW, it just suddenly started working again (after four days of not working) ... it wasn't working three hours ago either ... strange.
