How do I update Logic Pro X?

When I open projects friends send, I get a message saying this project was created by a newer version of Logic X and consequently I might encounter problems. Yet when I look on my software update on my Mac, Logic X isn't listed as a program that requires an update. I know I don't have the latest update for Logic X, is there a way to force it to update even though it doesn't ask me to?
