how do i unlock my ipad when ive forgotton my passcode and now my ipad is disabled?

HELP!! my hubby updated my ipad to the latest ios (whilst i was at work last night) it asked for a passcode but when he entered it it didnt except it and now my ipad is disabled and i cannot open it at all arghh! please advise as to how to solve it. it says on the screen ipad is disabled, connect to itunes. thanks in advance,helen.
