AirPort Express wireless channel problem.

I have an AirPort Express purchased in China.

But it only work on Channel 1-11(2.4 GHz) and 149-161(5 GHz).

China law allow Channel 1-13, 36-64 and 149-165. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

Apple is not up to date with regulations everywhere..

You should pass a support query requesting they update the allowed channels on the China release products.

For now there is nothing you can do about it..

According the same reference those changes only came in at the end of 2012

China MIIT expanded allowed channels as of Dec 31 2012 to add UNII-1, 5150 ~ 5250 MHz, UNII-2, 5250 ~ 5350 MHz (DFS/TPC), similar to European standards EN 301.893 V1.7.1.[41]
