iphone5 3G signal loss

My iphone 5 is on iOS 8.2. It keeps losing 3G signal frequently. I need to reset my network setting to bring the signal back. Very frustrating. Is there a solution?

Hello vpraghu,

Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

It seems like you frequently need to reset network settings on your iPhone 5 to regain your cellular data connection. This does sound frustrating.

Next, I'd recommend trying these additional troubleshooting tips from If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data to see if they correct the behavior:

  • Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  • Check for a Carrier Settings Update.
  • Remove the SIM card then reinsert it. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or doesn't fit in the SIM tray, contact your carrier.
  • Try another location. If possible, see if other devices are able to connect to your carrier's network in that location.
  • Contact your carrier to:
    • Verify that your account is active and in good standing.
    • Make sure there are no outages in your area.
    • Check that your device is not blocked from receiving cellular services and set up with the right data plan.

All the best,

Jeremy
