Adding a MacBook Air to existing Family Sharing account

I have just purchased a new MacBook Air for my partner and we have tried to connect this new device to our existing Family Sharing group.

Safari, Calendar, iTunes, App Store, iBooks and Reminders all appear to be working well, but should we be able to synch our Contacts and Notes onto this new device?

If so how?
