Photos not importing to a Project

Importing photos to Aperture, the photos import but suddenly it isn't creating any projects for the new photos or importing to existing projects.

The photos appear in the 'Photos' directory but nowhere else. If I right click -> Show in project.... nothing happens....

Also, creating a new project independently appears to have gone haywire too.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ed

Does this only happen in your current Aperture library, or also, when you create a new Aperture library for testing?

If the projects are working well in a new test library, repair your current Aperture library with the First Aid Tools.

To repair your Aperture library with the First Aid Tools:

  • Press and hold down the alt/option key ⌥ and the command ⌘ keys at the same time and launch Aperture.
  • Keep holding down both keys until you see the First Aid panel.
  • From the panel select to "Repair database".

Thanks Léonie. Sorry for the delay, been abroad.

Just tried a database repair, then imported the latest photos and that seems to have worked.

When it autosplits the projects (e.g. holiday 1, holiday 2 etc) they don't appear in order on the sidebar and just jumble amongst the others. Trying to remember if it ever did... whether it's just a 'quirk' of Aperture or the priority of ordering is not by date...

Thanks.

Have you set the library to keep the events and albums arranged by date or name?

Use the Actions menu:

User uploaded file

You can set that for each folder individually by ctrl-clicking the folder.
