iCloud fully enabled on MacBook Pro, but...

'My Photo Stream' does not work on my MacBook Pro.

I have logged in, and fully enabled iCloud on my MacBook Pro, but no matter what I do 'My Photo Stream' does not work.

On my desktop Mac, iPad Air 2, mini iPad and iPhone, it works perfectly, but it does not work on my MacBook Pro.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks! 😕

I do it is that my entire iPhoto library gets moved to the trash.

You mean the library gets physically moved to the Trash Bin? 😮

Download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here (and recommended by Apple Support personnel) in the ASC to help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Old Toad,

Again, thanks very much for your assistance.

Yes, all images in the entire iPhoto library get moved to the trash.

I have disabled/rebooted yet again, and this time received a message indicating 'inconsistencies' have been detected in my library and asking if I want to repair, so I have clicked on repair. The library is currently updating and I await the results.

Here are the results of my running of Etrecheck:

Problem description:

Problems with iPhoto: photo stream fails to operate. Reboot to solve problem results in iPhoto library being moved to trash.

There was nothing in the report what was suspicious. If the current rebuild doesn't fix the library try this:

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library

1 - download the free demo version of iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,

User uploaded file

2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.

3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.

User uploaded file

4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option

User uploaded file

5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.

Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.

Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
