13" MacBook Pro (early 2011) will not boot

So i've searched forum a bit, and many others have 'similar' problems, but not exactly, so forgive me for starting a new thread. Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro that will not boot up properly. I can hear the chime, and eventually the keyboard backlight comes on, but no display. Hooking up an external display does nothing. When I plug the charger in, I get the green light on the charger, but it never turns orange to indicate charging. I have tried another charger, no difference. The first LED on the charge indicator on the side flashes green, not the typical steady flash that indicates charging mind you, but a fast flash that continues on and on. Have done an SMC reset, which helped as before it wouldn't even try to boot, but since the SMC reset I can hear the startup chime and it seems to boot, again however, it does take a while before the keyboard backlight comes on, and there is not even a flicker of light coming across the screen at any time. Looks like the video might be shot??

Are you comfortable taking the MBP apart? Mostly just the bottom of the case.

Is your power adapter 60 Watts.

If so remove the power adapter, remove the bottom case and detach the battery.

Push the power button and hold it for a minute.

Wait 3 minutes and replug the battery and power adapter. Try the restart.

No - Try again, same routine but don't reconnect the battery.

No - Can you lay hands on a known good battery? That's charged up? Try that in there.

The battery looks like this:

The battery is the same for all non Retina 13" MBPs from 2009 to current.

The battery can cause a non start even if it tests good.
These MBPs are supposed to boot with out the battery but often won't.

Non charging can also be a problem with the DC in board. A cheap fix.
