Q: I clicked on a bookmark in safari and a window popped up with this message: http://www.ptotectionalert.info.   **Apple Online Scan Detected-Security Error**.   Error code:CSRSS.EXE.  Safari WILL NOT WORK AT ALL NOW. Can anyone tell me what to do

I clicked on a bookmark in safari and a window popped up with this message: http://www.ptotectionalert.info.   **Apple Online Scan Detected-Security Error**.   Error code:CSRSS.EXE.  Safari WILL NOT WORK AT ALL NOW. Can anyone tell me what to do

    Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

    You may also be able to temporarily make a text file with a suffix in the name of .html using TextEdit,   Then save as plain text, and drag over the Safari icon.

    That will force it to open the text file as the home page.  From there you can modify your home page to be some place like Google, which is not usually hacked.     It might say that your currently set homepage is hacked.
