Nano wiped, can't copy music from iTunes

My iPod nano (small square one) has lost everything, and I want to copy over the music I've purchased on iTunes, but I can't see how to copy it from iTunes to my iPod. Can anyone help me please? I am a total beginner at these things, never use iTunes, and couldn't find anything in the existing discussions. Would be very grateful for any tops. Thank you
