Bluetooth device stopped connecting so used Forget This Device so could pair again but now iPhone is not seeing device. I reset all settings on iPhone and did factory reset on device and still not showing up. Other phones can see my device.

I just got a new Garmin Fenix 3 watch and paired it via bluetooth to my iPhone 4S and it was working fine. My watch stopped connecting with my phone so I used the Forget This Device option so i could pair them again. Once I did this my iPhone would no longer see my Fenix 3. I reset all settings on my phone which didn't work so then I performed a factory reset on my watch and this didn't work either. My bluetooth is working on my phone as I'm able to see other devices and other people's phones are able to see my Fenix 3 when i put it in pairing mode. Not sure what else to do???

Finally got issue solved by deleting the associated Garmin Connect Mobile app and reinstalling thereby deleting any association between my iPhone and my Garmin Fenix 3. My phone would also not let me update the app to the most recent build so by completing deleting, I was able to download the current version of the app and start the entire connection program over again. By doing this, my phone was able to then recognize the device and pair properly. I hope it was worth all this effort. Thx all.

Sorry...should have replied to both in same posts. Yes, the Fenix was in pairing mode. I also have reset the iPhone by pushing sleep and home button simultaneously as well as power both phone and watch off and on multiple times. I even took the drastic step last night of upgrading my iPhone software to the new version 8.2. Thanks for suggestions but nothing working yet.

I am using fenix 3 for a month now, very happy in general. Numerous fenix 3 updates since purchase, now on most recent 4.20, installed yesterday. BT initially ok, but lost over night. Connect, pairing no longer possible. Removing from connect account didn't help. Connect app re-installation as described above didn't help either. Powering off and on fenix 3 brought back BT and allowed re-pairing (maybe after app re-install). Looks like full power off/on recommended after software updates.

I've been having this exact same problem too. The fenix 3 would lose connection and when i went into bluetooth there was a spinning gear and i couldn't unlink any associated bit of kit. I tried the usual sliding the phone into and out of airplane mode but this would only switch the wifi on and off. I tried hard resets, restired the phoen several times and then upgraded the iphone IOS 9.3.3 and even beta tested the ios 10!!! I went to the iphone genius bar and they tried all that too. Long story short is that it is (in my opinion) a connect issue.

The simple fix i have found is just to open the connect app. go to your device and it'll say that bluetooth is not on etc. Close the app and swipe up to remove it from multitasking. Then reopen it. Your device should now be connected. Crazy really.
