Received this on my Mac and now I can'T get rid of it. Wants me to call "Support for Apple " immediately with a toll free number. Says my computer has a virus. I don't dare. Just want to get rid of it so I can use my computer.

Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

II've closed everything down and disconnect everything. I'll wait a while and try turning back on.

Well that really works - Force Quit and then relaunch holding down Shift key. I made the mistake of calling the 1-647 number and they wanted to take over my machine - that is when I said no, and hung up.
