I've bought a new ipod touch today and I've noticed that during charging and when playing music (not on charge) I'm getting what seems to be continuous low voltage electric shocks. My partner first highlighted this too me as she was using it first but it's something of a concern. Is this a known issue and more importantly is it an issue which poses a risk to either the device or the user?

Try a different cable
Try a different charging source.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Take it back to place of purchase for service/exchange. You should not be getting any shocks whatsoever. Nip it in the bud from day 1.

I've tried 3 different chargers (my iphone 5, the ipod touch, ipad air) and the cables which go with them. It's not only when charging that the socks occur but when in use too. I might take it to my local apple store tomorrow if i get a chance.
Good plan. I'd rather do that than mess about trying for repairs etc.
You have 14 days to return for money back warranty. I suggest you take it back. You have not made it clear where you purchased it from. If from the Apple Store, then take it to the Apple Store. If not, then take it back to the seller.
