iPhone 6 - Text Recipient Duplicated and Renamed

While texting earlier, this crazy iPhone 6 running 8.1 duplicated a text recipient, actually showing 2 text recipients with they exact same name. Only after I deleted one did I realize the crazy phone had actually renamed a previous text recipient, because the text that I've had since 2012 totally disappeared. I successfully transferred it from my old 4S and now it's gone. Well, it's still likely backed on iTunes, but since you can't merge backups, it's just as good as gone. Thanks Apple.
