Contacts not syncing with MB Pro from iPhone 6

I have an MB pro 13" running Yosemite 10.10.2 & an iPhone 6 running iOS 8.2

Both are set up in the iCloud settings to allow contacts to use iCloud

The calender syncing works.

Syncing from my laptop to my phone works - within a second

However if I add contacts on my phone, they are not being synced back to my laptop.

I have checked every setting I can find and they are all green (icloud, allow syncing etc.)

I wondered if anyone had any thoughts?
