I successfully revised my Apple ID and now iCloud is angry at me

I LOST iCLOUD AFTER REVISING MY APPLE ID

I edited my Apple ID yesterday and the changes were accepted by Apple. It works! Apple recognizes it! TADA!

However, iCloud has begun sending a message every 2 minutes asking me for my password, and iCloud is showing by OLD Apple ID name.

iCloud's message is: This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "mikejbaron@triad.rr.com".

That name (email address) is obsolete! It was the previous Apple ID name. Why didn't iCloud automatically "synch up" to my revised Apple ID? Arrrgh!

iCloud asked for a password, then rejects my Apple ID password saying it is wrong.

I cannot login to iCloud. How do I get iCloud back?

Thank you for any help!
