iPod won't turn on. Apple logo flashes, charged for 6+ hours

My iPod touch won't turn on at all. When I plug the charger into a wall, the apple logo just flashes on and off. When I hold the home and power button for a reset, a picture with the itunes symbol and charger comes up and thats it, it doesn't go past that and if I release the two buttons, it just goes back to flashing the logo. When I connect to the computer, it won't even charge and my computer won't detect the iPod. It's def not a dead battery considering so many people are having this issue. How do I fix it?

See what you missed here. It is not looking promising.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ok so just an update, I scheduled an appointment for today with my local Apple Store. I went in, they told me the connect port thing (the part where your charger goes into) might not be working properly or the thing that links that to the dashboard isn't working. I had a warranty on my iPod (1 year manufacturer warranty and I got this iPod in October) so they gave me a new one and took my old one.

I did end up losing everything but at least now I have a workable iPod!
