App Store shows updates but button changes to open before I can hit update.

SO this morning my App Store showed alerts that I haVe available updates. However when I go to the update screen the update buttons quickly switch to open buttons, before I have a chance to tap any of them. I managed to hit one befor it changed and it updated but the other two are still there, leaving the red dot on the App Store showing updates are available. Also my phone isn't updating apps automatically, it doesn't even shows notifications for new updats (it never has, either), despite my settings.

It may help to force close all open apps and reset your iPhone.

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If you're still having issues updating apps, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.

Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.

Put your device in recovery mode.

When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
