Itunes doesn't give option to restore. "restore" option goes away before I can click it each time i start up itunes

I've sorted this out now. Turns out that I didn't click on the iPod from iTunes, and was consequently unable to restore the device. With a little more research I found out where to clock the iPod on iTunes version 12 and was able to restore the device.
