iTunes 12.1.1.4 on Windows 8.1 OS. Player/controller does nothing. Fixes?

I installed iTunes 12.1.1.4 on Windows 8.1 OS. When trying to play any song, the player/controller does not do anything. No errors, just does nothing. Any ideas of causes or how to fix?
