My photos are not transferring to iPhoto

Question

My photos are not transferring to iPhoto

When I hook up my phone to sync, iPhoto no longer opens up. The photos are not transferring. I don't remember making changes to the settings. What happened? My phone is out of storage and I need to get this photos off. Thanks, in advance.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Can you access them with Image Capture (in the Applications Folder)?

Try lauch iTunes.

Then connect the Phone/iPad

When it asks you to trust it, say yes.

Then try import.
