Unable to update apps on iPhone

App Store app icon shows as 13 meaning thirteen available updates and once I open the app the "Update" button next to each of the apps turn into "Open" insread of update. Tried restarting the phone, force closing the app, signed out of my Apple ID and signed in again. Still nothin.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.2
