Macbook Pro suddenly stopped responding while in Safari and now won't boot up. Press the start button and the chime sounds, progress bar begins to load and when progress bar gets to about 25% level unit shuts down. Any ideas?

my ginger - thanks for the advise, didn't cure this issue however. New hard drive fixed problem.
