Can't add music to my 5th gen iPod iOS 8.2 via iTunes

I tried restarting and resetting my iPod, closing and reopening iTunes, but all I get are greyed out songs on my iTunes library when I look at my iPod.

iTunes thinks I have the playlist, asks if I want to replace the playlist (as they have the same name), but my iPod doesn't see/acknowledge that I've put even an empty playlist onto the device.

Can't add single songs either.

I do have a 5th gen, iOS 8.2, 64g iPod Touch, and it is set to manually manage music on my iTunes 12.1.1.

Any suggestions or help would, and will, be greatly appreciated.

Factory resetting and starting as new iPod did the trick.

On my PC. That's what says my iPod is an iPhone.

iTunes > Help > Run Diagnostics:

Most Recent Devices Not Currently Connected:

iPhone 4 (CDMA) running firmware version 6.1

Serial Number: {Redacted in spite of the fact that no iPhone has been near my PC ever}

**** Device Sync Tests ****

Sync tests completed successfully.

I named my iPod "Blaze's Paradox" which is what it says on my iPod under Settings>General>About>Name.
