reinstalling my iTunes database

Hi all,

I have 3 Macs all running Yosemite and the latest version of iTunes. I have iTunes Match as well. For some reason, my iTunes library on one Mac has duplicate entries. I'd like to just reset that database and refill it with the info from iTunes Match (music, movies and TV shows). Everything is backed up, so no worries about lost data.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

John

Hi John Dougherty,

If one of your iTunes libraries has duplicate entries, you have two options. You can remove the duplicates in the library. Or, you can replace the iTunes library with one of your other backed up libraries. Here are a couple of resources to explain how.

Find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library - Apple Support

Back up your iTunes library by copying it to an external drive - Apple Support

iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - Apple Support

Hope that helps ...
