Hello. I'm looking to buy a MacBook Pro, and I need some advice. I plan to use it for video editing, primarily videos less than 8 minutes long and with no special effects, just putting clips together, adding music and voiceover. I Make one video per week. What are the best upgrades for the money? Do I need more memory, faster CPU, more processor cores? Is it worth it to get the 15" for the quad-core i7 processor? Any advice appreciated!
Either the MacBook Pro 13 or 15 inch would be good, depends on what you wan to spend. The 15 inch I use is a 2011 and it is great for videos. I use Final Cut Pro X and iMovie... Whatever floats your boat. The 13 inch are dual core where the 15 inches are quad core i7.
Video is best served by a good GPU. That essentially points to this 15" MBP:

I personally would opt for additional storage over a faster CPU If I had to make a choice.
If portability is not a major consideration, for less money you can get a lot more performance with an iMac. Just a thought.
