IOS/Iphoto Question

We just updated to IOS8 and none of our thousands of phots are appearing in iphoto on our desktop. Please help us find our memories.

Explain more, please. How is iPhoto on your Desktop related to iOS 8? iOS is for iPads or iPhones.

Where do you store your photos? Are they in the camera roll on your iPhone or iPad? Or in the Photo Stream?

Or are photos missing, that you previously imported to iPhoto on your Desktop?

Did you upgrade iPhoto on your Mac? Which version of iPhoto do you have, and which MacOS X version?
