My LaCie harddisk doesn't accept anymore files for saving, I always get error code _50 which means paramErr: error in user parameter list. Impossible to reformat the disk. Files can be copied for backup.
How to resolve or to reformat the disk?

I was getting an error -50 (error in user parameter list) that was stopping me from copying all of the files from a folder on my Macbook to a folder on an external hard drive. I shortened the name of the folder on my Macbook before copying it to the hard drive and that allowed all the files to be copied with no error message.
