iMac bluetooth keyboard

overnight my keyboard has decided to play up. a number of keys don't work (i am typing this with the mouse and the on screen keyboard).

i have tried un-pairing, re-pairing, holding the keyboard on/off button to reset it, removed/replaced batteries and also restarted iMac ......but no luck.

any ideas or is it a new keyboard?
