Cant connect to FaceTime or imessage

CCan't connect to FaceTime or iMessage centre. Network is connected and iCloud fully updated and registered

iPad, iOS 8.2

I Had same problem with my iPad third generation.

I followed the advice of Austin Jolley and when the screen came up again I was prompted to enter my AppleID password for iCloud, which I entered.

OPened message app- put in apple ID (username was already entered) and hey presto it worked. Same for FaceTime.

OBviously it likes es icloud activated first for some reaso!
