Q: no sound using bootcamp with windows 10 and yosemite

Hi,

I've just installed Windows 10 preview on my iMac Retina with Yosemite.  Everything works great but, I have no sound when using windows, I do have sound when on Yosemite.  I've looked and still haven't found a working solution, any help would be appreciated?

   Thank you. Jerry

    Hi,

I'm have the same problem again, once it updated to the new Windows 10 10049. Funny thing is, it didn't start right away, it took a few days for the sound problem to come back. There're no yellow exclamation points in device manager.  I Reset the NVRAM and this time that didn't work.  It's the same sound, doesn't seem to be every 2=3 seconds, more like 5-7 seconds, not sure that makes a difference.  Anything else I can try?  Everything else seems fine.  The sound to me seems like it's a error message without the error showing.

                       Thanks, Jerry

I finally figured out what sound it is....device disconnect.  Not sure why I'm getting this sound?  But I did turn it off.

Are these devices losing connectivity periodically? You also may have BT interference or a device in pairing mode which does not pair successfully.

No not at all.  How do I know if one of my BT device is in pairing mode?  How can I fix that?

          Thank you

Thanks a lot, this screenshot allowed me to figure out witch of the cirrus logic driver was the right one to make my sounds work again on internal speaker on my imac 5K.

Forcefully replaced the original driver with this one and voila, sound works again!

    What worked for me was...

    -fresh installation of win 7

-then installation of boot camp drivers (sound is there after this installion)

-upgrade win 7 to win 10 by inserting win 10 dvd in windows itself

    - after the installation of win 10 sound was already there so fresh bootcamp drivers installation and its normal

    thanks

I am having the same issue, but when attempting to reinstall the drivers as directed in the links you provided the installation gets stuck while installing Realtek audio (see screen shot below). I tried to manually install the drivers from the folder of drivers on the bootcamp files on the USB flash drive and the installation for the driver completes but the sound still doesn't work. I see the red light you mentioned in the audio jack and attempted to reset the NVRAM as well but the red light remains on as long as I am in the Windows and still no luck with the sound. Any suggestions? Thanks
