New iMac iTunes problem

I have recently bought a new iMac which is great, but I can't get my music to display in iTunes. The music which is stored on a NAS device is still displaying and playing on my iPad, and accessible from my Sonos system. Any new music downloaded from the iTunes store is displaying, but not my existing music library. Can anyone help please.
