Photostream numbers don't match

Using an iPhone 6 with all the latest updates and iPhoto; Photostream is turned on on all devices. My phone tells me I have 188 photos, but iCloud Photostream in iPhoto only shows 106 pics? Where are the rest of the pics and how do I get them all in sync? (My AppleTV is also showing 106 pics)

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Photo Stream is not a permanent storage. iCloud will only keep the photos that have been added during the last thirty days in the Photo stream. Older photos will be removed after 30 days, or if you exceed the limit of 1000 photos. When you enable Photo stream on a new device, it will be populated with the photos you currently have in iCloud, no with all photos on your devices.

Have the missing photos been taken with the iPhone or synced from your Mac to the iPhone?

No problem, Robb.

The photos on the iPhone have come over from older pics taken on previous iPhones I owned prior to the iPhone6.

That explains then, why they are no longer in My Photo Stream.

You may want to look at this support document also well:

i.e. the paragraph "I see different photos in the Recently Added album or My Photo Stream album on each of my devices."
