Q: p20-imap.mail.me.com

Currently, level 2 tech support has an open case for this issue. But I am wanting to ask the rest of the apple community if anyone else is having this problem today. I woke up this morning to check my email, and noticed I couldn't get to my inbox on my phone, my laptop, nor on the server itself when hitting the mail icon. After an extensive conversation with level 1 and 2 tech support on the phone, they think it's a server issue on the server I'm using for my email for iCloud, which is the p20 imap server. I don't have an issue sending an email to the iCloud address, it's not rejected in other words. The only problem seems to be with the p20-imap-mail.me.com incoming mail server. Is anyone else out there having this issue?

    FWIW what I have for mail server is p-02.imap.mail.me.com, not p20, and it works fine.

     

    Might also try entering that and see if helps any.  If not, go back to 20 or no prefix as Csound1 suggests.

    Unfortunately, the mac mail client on my macbook pro does not allow the p20 to be removed. It's greyed out. If you delete the account and re-add it, it automatically associates the serve p20 to it. But it's not a client issue on my macbook anyway. It's on iCloud.com as well. If I log into iCloud.com and get to the screen where the app icons are such as contacts, calendar, settings, and mail of course and click the mail app, I get the same error and it says this:

     

    1st - I get a pop up that says Can't load mail, There was a problem loading the application.

    2nd - I get the report below…

     

    According to Apple, each iCloud email is on a specific server, mine is p20, stumbleone is p02, etc.Apple tech level 2 says it's a server issue apparently. I was trying to see if anyone else on p20 had the same issue or if anyone else out there ever saw this error show up and what it was about?

    I have the same problem. I cannot get mail from my icloud mail on any apple devices I have. It shows me the same error message as you have.

    yiyaofromhartford, are you on the p20 server? To know this you have to look at your incoming mail server on your mail client… it's usually greyed out. And if so, how long has it been happening for you?

    Did you open up a trouble ticket with Apple? I called them this morning at 9am and was on the phone for 2 hours until they brought me into level 2 support. Then I talked with a pretty cool guy who saw exactly what I was talking about and said it really looks like it's out of my hands. He opened up a ticket for their engineering team and said they would look at it within 2 business days. But I'm guessing that if others call up and add a ticket too for the same server, then it will be fixed quicker?

    Got the exact same problem. I am on p20-imap.mail.me.com server and can not connect to my email from all my devices even iCloud.com. I ll call them today to open a ticket. Hope this way the problem will be solved quickly!!!!

    I have the same issue here since yesterday.

    I am unable to get mail on any of my devices.

     

    Here is the message I get from Apple Mail on my laptop

    It fails without warning on my iPhone

    Logee2 and benoit153, please do call Apple and get them to get you to level 2 support. Refer them to this discussion board too if necessary. Tell them plenty of others are getting this, thus it must be a p20 server issue only. I have no idea how many people are on this server, but I do know that the other servers aren't having an issue because I talk to a few people who are on other ones and they are fine. So I'm not sure what happened to this one. I did discover though that we can still send email to our address, and I was able to even in my mail client send an email out using the outgoing part of the mail server. It's only the p20-imap-mail.me.com incoming mail server that has the issue, which causes all of us not to get into our mailbox to see who's sent us mail. I'm not a server guy unfortunately, so I didn't understand any of what that error message above means, when I tried to get on the iCloud.com/mail part of it. Hopefully these engineers will fix this soon. But unfortunately, they might not even be in on the weekend, as I was told 2 business days, which means Monday and Tuesday. Ugh! I use my email for all my business and personal stuff. The tech had to remind me it's a free email account and if I was paying, it probably would be escalated much faster. Kind of stunk hearing that...

    I did report this problem. The person I talked to was helpful, but he said he did not encounter this issue before and he is trying to figure out.

    yiyaofromhartford, did he open a ticket on it? Did you get a ticket number? Hopefully you did, as that's the only way they will end up fixing it.

    I'm also on P20, and not getting mail since early 03/28.  I talked to level 2 support yesterday and he opened a ticket. Said to expect resolution by Tuesday, & would call me if resolved sooner.  I hope there are enough open tickets to cause this to be escalated.  Had to resort to gmail to file my taxes.

    DI-Cornescu, yes, it's very frustrating myself. I use my iCloud email for everything except my blog and personal website. I just find it weird that they don't think this is a high priority issue to have one of their servers be down, but according to the tech, he said it's because I'm not a paying customer and they get higher priority. Corporate american right?
