My clip shows it needs to render, but the Rendering Background Task is idle. Preferences set to start in 4 seconds. (I changed it to see if that had any impact on getting the footage to render.)

Try turning off back ground render. Then select and Ctl-R. It still may not render. If it doesn't, select the project and from the File menu choose Delete Computer-Generated Project File.

Thanks so much. Exactly the info I needed. It eventually does render. But now I know a tad more how to 'control' it (ha! - like I could.)
