Does iPad 2 mirror in full HD 1080p using Airplay on an Apple TV?

I am using iBooks App mirrored as a sales presentation tool on iPad using an Apple TV to a 60" TV. Currently my Gen 3 iPad does not mirror in full HD using airplay on an Apple TV. If I upgrade to an iPad 2 Air which has a higher native resolution will it mirror at full HD 1080p using an apple TV or will I still get black bars when using iBooks. I want to be able to show iBooks in full 1080p resolution in mirror mode.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 8.2
