how can I record my guitar to sound like a bass in garageband

This may not be the place to ask this but I will anyway

I once saw a youtube on how to set up Garageband to record my acoustic guitar and have it sound like a bass.

I have a song but I don't have a bass

I plugged my guitar in and selected the bass patches, and tried to get it deep down, and then when I changed bass patches looking for a 'passer' sound, I was asked to save that setting—there's a question for another post...

Has anyone had the need to record their acoustic guitar to sound down like a bass and found a way to do it.

PS, don't know a bassist to borrow one from, I've already been suggested that, lol

You can transpose audio tracks down an octave. Software instrument tracks can be transposed down as much as two octaves.
