Final Cut 10.0.8 about 18 months will not open since I updated to Yosemite.

I purchased Final Cut 10.0.8 about 18 months ago but now it will not open --- since I updated to Yosemite. How do I update Final Cut so I can use it again?

G5, Mac OS X (10.3.9), 1.8 GHz 768MB DDR SDRAM

You download the update from the App Store using the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.

You should read up about the newer versions before you update as the application has changed substantially since then.
