Deleted all photos from iPhone but Settings > General > About still showing 1200 photos

Hi All,

I deleted all photos from iPhone Photos app (it’s showing zero photos, zero recently deleted), but Settings > General > About still showing 1200 photos and Settings > General > Usage showing 9.2 GB under "Photos & Camera" . . . ?

Does anyone know where these 1200 photos are or how to free up this space?

You're welcome! I must give credit to @txforever, who actually discovered this solution. It's an excellent example of why a user-to-user support forum can provide better support than a pure vendor support system; for Apple to provide @txforever's solution would require admitting there was a bug in iOS 😉
