Went to bed last night and had an alarm set. Alarm didn't go off and Iphone was dead. Plugged it in and nothing happens. Phone won't work at all. Suggestions? will apple cover this?

While the iPhone is plugged in, try holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This could take up to 30 seconds of holding.

How long did you have the device plugged in? It may need to be plugged in for about 30 minutes. If not, try putting the device into recovery mode. See this support document. If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone won't turn on so iTunes doesn't connect.
If the device is off, then follow the instructions on how to connect the device and get it into Recovery mode. If you cannot get it into recovery mode, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware checked.
Phone died during the night and won't charge or turn on now.
