suggestions on top of line 1 TB 15" for CAD and 3D and VM/Boot Camp?

i am thinking of upgrading the macbook pro since i am upgrading the desktop computer and this would be a really good time for me to take care of all of it. i bought a 2009 13" MBP with the idea that this would be able to fit my needs but the machine seemed VERY underpowered and i was not aware that the 13" model did not have the same speed as the 15" model.

i plan to run CAD and 3D as well as a virtual machine or boot camp install of windows.

can anyone help me with the models and chipsets and any other things to consider?

i'd /really/ rather get a small netbook like the new 12" so i can carry it with me all the time but i can tell that i won't be able to run anything other than email and websites and text or spreadsheets on this computer.

thanks for any help

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), mid 2009 13" 2.53 core2duo 8 GB RAM
