My iPod Touch 5 had full charge and I left it on a charger to do something. When I came back, it does nothing. The home button, power button, and the button on my headphones all aren't doing anything.

Try to reset it. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 - 30 seconds. See if you can force it to reboot. if you see the silver apple let go and see if it reboots

You're very welcome. I've had both my iPod and iPad do this, and in both cases the reset brought them back.
The reset is a common first step for any trouble shooting, so if your device ever acts up again, give it a try
I would try to hold down my lock screen button it might be off. If not sothen charge it.
