apple tv cuts my movies off after 2 hours
lately when i rent a movie that is longer than 2 hours apple cuts them off at the end

Sounds as though it isn't fully downloading the whole movie for some reason - I've seen some instances where a locally streamed movie from iTunes gets so far then stops, but it's sporadic and not the norm.
Have you unpowered and restarted AppleTV? Might be worth performing a reset on it if it continues to play up - contact iTunes Store about the rentals which didn't complete and complain about the poor user experience, hopefully they will refund or offer you a store credit to rent again, but this would be at their discretion.
