We just recently purchased thru amazon a Lacie Lightscibe and to the frustration the software didn't work on both iMac and Macbook,and the worse part is i keep installing it last night and it did crash my macbook.
My iMac Runs a OS X Yosimite 10.10.2
Any suggestion?I work as a mobile dj and i badly need a light scribe,any suggestion would help.

None of the newer LaCie products come with Lightscribe any longer - I used to have a burner which had that included, but that was more than 4 years ago. Amazon must be selling old stock leftovers. I checked the LaCie site and they do have an updater available, but that is also not very recent either as it requires 10.3.9 as a minimum - but, here is the link:

I would guess that the old software simply is not compatible with Yosemite. You can either get newer software or use an older Mac with an older OS.
Thanks we tried downloading this also but didn't work.Guess we only have to ship it back to USA since we are currently in KSA.Just found it weird that none of the product we bought in the US works here,like the WD Cycloid...Purchase it last july 2014 and didn't work till now.There's must be some setting or BLOCKING thats been going on.Thanks Anyway!
I don't believe that your location has anything to do with the Lightscribe software necessarily - it is rather old and they have obviously abandoned support for it. I've noticed that Amazon is not really good at showing system requirements, specs, or other pertinent information.
That leave me no choice but to return and look for best suit for my apple.Do you have any suggestion?

I have not tried this, but I have a different software from this company: Swift Publisher and that has been great for me (I use it to create my artwork and (birthday) cards.
They offer a trial, so you can try and see if you like it.
