Mar 28, 2015 5:11 PM in response to Loner Tby Catintree gaming, ssure, how do I copy and paste text from recovery mode?
-
Mar 28, 2015 5:14 PM in response to Catintree gamingby Loner T,In Recovery console, you can copy the text, and then close the Terminal and switch to Safari and post the text. It is a bit tedious to switch back and forth, though. Recovery Console does not allow Terminal and Safari to be up at the same time, and it may be a bit slow.

Mar 28, 2015 5:37 PM in response to Catintree gamingby Loner T,In Recovery console the last command does not need "sudo", since you are already root. Run it without the the "sudo".
In your diskutil list output, you can see Recovery HD between OSX and Bootcamp, so you cannot merge partitions without losing Recovery HD. If you need it back, you will need to boot from an external OSX installation, merge it, and then re-install OSX via the Recovery Console (not booted from the external OSX installation) to get Recovery HD back

Mar 28, 2015 5:43 PM in response to Catintree gamingby Loner T,1. You have lost your EFI partition. OSX will not work.
2. You may have mistakenly thought you have a CS volume, but there is none. diskutil list shows a HFS partition.
3. Your GPT is corrupt (at least the primary table is). The secondary table can be recovered, but you will need GPT Fdisk - http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/
4. You will need to install OSX on an external disk to be able to install GPT Fdisk (aka gdisk).

Mar 28, 2015 5:45 PM in response to Loner Tby Catintree gaming,Sorry, I don't understand what most of this means but am I going to need to wipe my hard drive to fix this?
-
Mar 28, 2015 5:56 PM in response to Catintree gamingby Loner T,No. I cannot tell that you need to wipe it. Do you have a Time Machine backup of your OSX installation before this started? The best option is to boot from an external OSX installation and install Gdisk, which will tell us more. diskutil list being correct shows that it is possible to recover, without loss of data.
