Flash player freezing in both Safari and Firefox

Ever since I updated Flash Player last week its been freezing, or hanging up, both Safari and Firefox, particularly on the homepage of Yahoo and Youtube. I somewhat believe the banner ads on these websites are the source of the problem. If you work around the homepages to other pages on the sites it works fine. Anyway I've found a workaround but its a huge pain in the ***, when the browser freezes, at least in Safari, I can open up force quit and two items will appear as not responding "Safari Web Content" and "Flash Player (Safari Internet plug-in)". If I force quit these items the browser unfreezes and every goes back to functioning as normal inside of the browser. Any idea what is going on here?
