How to turn on auto-indentation in Pages in this way?

Hello!

I want to be able to indent manually by tabbing, and when I go to a new line I want it to continue at that same indentation. Can this be done? For example,

- text text text text text

text text text text

text text text text

text text text

text text

text text text text

text

text

text

Is there a way this can be done? If there are any programmers here, this kind of behaviour is common in IDEs and text editors like sublime text or notepad++.

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), null

Pages is a word processor, not an IDE or programmer's editor, and it will not easily automate what the dedicated editors were intentionally designed to perform. To achieve what you want to do in Pages will require disabling automatically detect lists in the preferences; a combination of soft returns and tabs; and frequent adjustments to indents, and default tab spacing. Simply not worth the hassle.
