Q: can I download ios 8 to MC086LL (older ipod touch)

I have an older ipod touch (Model No. MC 086LL) version 4.2.1. When I tried to install the youtube app I get the message that it is not compatible with my touch.Can I do something about this? Can I update my ios to 8.x?
