I give training for science teachers / languages. (In OS X no problem.)
How to indices or exponents a number or letter? (To write eg H2O, ... or 6,67x10exposant -11 the gravitation constant). I know I can write 6.67E-11, but it's not beautiful.

The best thing is probably to download a special keyboard, like Symbola or Chemistry Keyboard. Search the app store for "equation" etc.

But it is not easy to always change the keyboard..., it is more easy to have the solution in the iApp. Nevertheless you have a good solution.
